Low price, high value: This is a win
Excellent router, excellent price. We upgraded our internet with our ISP this week and were told by the tech that we could save a bit of money by providing our own router over their $100 model. When the technicians arrived to install the new signal equipment, there was some confusion because the router they usually provide at $100…Is this exact router. I was going for lowest price with highest reviews, which I guess was their MO as well. The tech said he had advised the ISP to carry this router for their customers as it presents with the most reliable bang for the buck. Understandably, there’s a bit of markup in buying it from them, so purchasing it here on Amazon was us cutting out the middle man. The router itself is what I’d describe as medium size. It’s a third bigger than the small, outdated router it replaced, but not so big it will be mistaken for a piece of furniture. It’s light weight and easy to set up. Moreover, you can purchase multiple to easily create a mesh network for larger homes or properties where you might need or want WiFi over a more considerable amount of square footage. On the whole, I am very satisfied with this purchase, and the price was excellent. Superb value.

A hidden gem
I was looking for a long range router to cover an area away from my house WiFi router. That area is mainly having some low bandwidth devices. I didn't want to spend a lot and I was more likely looking for a range extender. I have very bad experience with the small ones as they requires periodical reboot.I got this one as Amazon used item. I didn't know that it actually supports a range extension mode.I received the box. Item looked like new. Missing packaging bags but it looks new and reset. While setting it up, I found about the range extender mode. I set it up and Voila! worked better than I expected. Very long range coverage on both receiving and transmitting. Easy set-up process with adequate speed. One of my devices rejected the connection. After some troubleshooting, I found that the router needed to be updated. I have done the update manually and it is even better now. Most of the new routers don't supprot range extension mode in favor of the MESH networking.

Super Smooth Setup & Excellent Performance
Pros:- Price- Performance- FeaturesCons:- Range ( for homes 2000sqft or smaller)I purchased this router as an Xmas gift for my father a few months back when it was on sale for 39.99. I figured for my parents modest needs this little thing should fit the bill quite nicely. My parents are basic users by every metric. Not big streamers, some Youtube, email, and mostly searches for news & local events. No security cameras, automated lights or IoT devices. So I can't provide feedback on really putting this router through it's paces with a typical family load. But what I can say is that upgrading them from my old Buffalo AirStation Extreme AC 1750 (10 year old router) was a huge improvement.Setup was smooth & quick. Literally up and running in 10 minutes. No kidding!- Unplugged the old router- Plugged in the new router- From the Desktop PC navigated to tplinkwifi.net where it walks you through the entire process- Downloaded new firmware, rebooted... done.Other manufactures could learn a thing or two from this simple setup process. LOOKING AT YOU NETGEAR!Performance was greatly improved. Last time I went home to visit I remember running a speed test and seeing 50mbps / 3mbps up on the desktop, lower over wifi. 13ish mbps! I figured since my parents don't need much I figured that was the package they opted for. So I was surprised to install the new router, rerun the test and see 500Mbps / 11mbps up (Spectrum). That old Buffalo was holding them back that much!Router is upstairs in dad's office. Downstairs I saw -59dbm in the main sunroom area which isn't all that far but several walls in between. Will it be enough for them? Absolutely. Again... my parents needs are quite modest. Signal seemed to reach throughout the entire house (2800sqft) 2 story home.I'm giving this thing a A-. For gamers, large families always online, lots of streaming... you may want to look to setup up a few levels from this. But for the basics this really can't be beat. Very very impressed.

Solid Performance
TP-Link is one of the best brands you can get for routers and this one doesn't disappoint. It's placed on the second floor and provides good coverage throughout the house. Reliability has never been an issue with the older models I have and the price is great. Easy to recommend.
