It hurts to read how awful humans reached such a depth of cruelty to another. My family name is German and obvious and I traveled in Europe and often I met the glare of Jewish people and felt I should explain I am American then second thoughts were, they would not care. I conclude Jews will never forgive nor forget and I cannot blame them nor their reaction to my name tag when I am obliged to wear one. An irony is I did chemical research on nerve gas with Friedrich Hoffmann who claimed nerve gas was stocked in Germany during the war and was the super weapon never used because German scientists said the British had it also and an antidote . . . .none of which was true and German scientist are responsible for Germany losing the war on the theory a bomb, exploding over London and filled with nerve gas would have killed a hundred thousand in an awful death. I imagine it true America and England would sue for peace had it been used because it was an unknown chemical liquid discovered by accident in Germany and perfected. And I suppose his message was not all us Germans were bad people. Our employer wanted me to remain in the same career and I chose not but Friedrich made a career of toxic chemicals which, to my knowledge, were never used. It is hard to fathom a man interested in the science of lethal chemicals and no interest in their use.

One of my all-time faves!
One of my all-time favorite books, Night explains in depth (though in a short book) the struggles that Elie Wiesel went through during the Holocaust from being home with his family to being interned in a concentration camp with his father. I've read this book multiple times and every time, I pick up different new details that I previously missed. It's extraordinarily written and thought-provoking. A truly fantastic book and I honestly can't say enough great things about it. Great for teens and adults. Especially if you're a fan of history of human rights!

The story of the Holacaust
This is a must read and an excellent book. I read it for a second time years apart and still felt it was an important story to be told. I had to buy a used book because I couldn't see where I clould buy it new and I had given mine away! Darn!

Read Night and Remember
This is the 3rd, Night:With Connections I've bought. I lent the first two copies but I wanted to read it again when Arlie Weisel died. It is so compelling that I read it in a few hours. He walks you through the smells, horror and desperate people in the camps. It is made more compelling by the political mess we are living through now. As it was in the 1930's when there still was time to leave, many thought it would never happen to them. It did! This is why it is so important to "remember and never forget". We must remember to fight racism and prejudice, hate and discrimination, right now in 2016, by not supporting fascists !

Must read!!! Age: 11-100000000000
Beautiful, but depressing story that tore my heart. I literally cried most times while reading this. Elie Weisel has seen a lot, and this book tells you all....and I'm sure this is not even half of the depressing moments he's experienced. I was not able to put this book down. It was heart breaking and it keeps you on the edge of your seat. Of course you know by the end HE will survive, but what about the others? What about his friends, family, and loved ones? Will they survive like he did? Will they break through to grasp of the German's hell?READ it.

Unforgettable
I decided reread this one after hearing of the death of Eli Weisel. I read this as a youth and even forty some years later it is still unforgettable. I remember it being simple, sad yet powerful book. It's message far outweighs it's size. If one wishes to know what the holocaust during World War 2 was like then this should be your starting point. This is a true classic.

Humbling
I first read this book when I was 21 having just left the RAF.Night is Elie Wiesel’s memoir about his personal experiences during the Holocaust. It is both intensely shocking and sad, but is worth reading because of the power of Wiesel's witnessing one of humanity's darkest chapters and his confession on how it changed him.

Harrowing and beautifully written
This is a undoubtedly a book that will stay with you and truly resonate within your being for a significant time after finishing it. The story is beautifully written despite describing a hideous time in history. It is a truly harrowing account of the horrors endured by by a family during the Holocaust and their struggles ultimately to survive. It follows their hopes and fears stripping back the raw emotion encompassing the hardships they lived through.

A serious book worth reading
It is hard to say that you could love or like such a book. It is deeply moving and a horrific true life story of an event in our history. Unbelievable to think people could treat others in such a cruel and heartless way. Unbelievable to think that people can wish to wipe this from our history to escape the memories. It really must never happen again.
