Was going to toss out my starter guitar, a Peavey Predator that I got over 20 years ago. It was the noisiest guitar I've ever heard, with a constant buzz as soon as it was plugged in. Instead, I decided to use it as a test before doing work on my Gibson. Shielded it with this tape, including pickups, and swapped out the jack... when I plugged it back in to test it I thought I'd botched the job and ruined the guitar, turns out I'd turned it into the quietest guitar I've ever heard and what I took for a busted guitar was simply silence.

Product is perfect for shielding active pick ups from radio waves. Separates from backing easily, even when cut to fit. I haven't got to test it yet for shielding properties, but it looks like it'll work perfectly.The amount on one roll is generous. I think I can shield at least 3, probably 4 guitars with this. I'll be buying more products as I'm a shred guitarist and use active pickups..and have several guitars I'm in the process of upgrading.I'll send an update once I get back home and complete the first guitar I taped and wired.

I used this foil for rf shielding inside my Fender Duo Sonic. Prior to installation this guitar had a lot of hum. The foil went in easy, stuck due to its sticky side, and did not require soldering as it conducted through the sticky stuff as well. I first removed the electronics from the pickguard, and then applied foil to both the pickguard and the inside of the cavity in the body of the guitar. When the volume and tone pots were reinstalled they provided grounding contact through the part of their bodies that clamped onto the pickguard. It worked.

I bought this tape (the 2" size) to line the body cavities on an old bass guitar I'm restoring. Worked great, cuts easily, backing removes easily, adheres to pretty much anything, and has good conductivity..good stuff!No more hum from this bass..

The foil is thinner than other products I have used for shielding, so care needs to be taken to avoid tearing when using- this also makes it easier to work into tight spots.the positive:* the adhesive holds very well* Fair price for what you get, and very fast shipping service!The negative:The adhesive on the roll I received does not conduct. It took several tries with my continuity tester to get it to register. Essentially it wasn't until I pressed the probes through the adhesive when my continuity tester indicated a conductive path. The conductivity doesn't compare to the adhesive produced by 3M- perhaps you get what you pay for...The bottom line: If I were a full-time luthier, I wouldn't buy the product again, but I can make it work by soldering the overlapping pieces together.

This material worked great. Easy to use, fold and adhere the copper foil tape to the guitar body cavity. The adhesive used for the foil is conductive so overlapping the tape provides continuity throughout the foil. No soldering between pieces. The foil tape did reduce the noise level appreciably. Grounded the foil to the guitar control circuit. I can run the volume to "7" on my guitar without any noise or hum from the single coil pickups. Not a cure all for the single coil hum but a significant reduction can be utilized with this copper foil tape.

I used the tape to do some crafts and is amazing! has very strong adhesive. Very good quality!
