These hanger bolts are headless bolts designed to hang materials from wooden structures, walls or overhead. One half has a lag thread wood screw with a pointed tip, and the other half has standard machine thread with a blunt tip. Commonly used to hang wiring and ceiling hooks, the assembly is complete when the lag end is screwed into a pre-drilled hole.

Beware, these are metric
These are listed as 5/16 which they are not. The nuts require a 12mm wrench. The nuts and washers are typical Chinese indersize crap which may be ok to hold light weight things but they need replacing with full size nuts and washers. Not worth the purchase price,won’t buy again.

These are NOT 5/16 of an inch. Must be some metric size. Seem to be of good quality.
