Does very well what it is designed to do.
I got this cultivator for my wife because she likes to grow things that I like to eat and I want to make her job easier. A strange early Mother's Day gift? I guess so. The small capacity ( 2.0Ah 40V) battery charged up very nicely in its special recharger. Although I guess a higher capacity battery would also be more expensive and weigh more making it less fun to use and require longer recharge time. The battery green bars on the back shows its state of charge so you can know when you're getting low. The Tiller/cultivator was mostly assembled in the box on arrival and the remaining assembly was very quick and easy. The illustrated instructions were very satisfactory. Lately it's been very rainy here so the problem is can it deal with mud. Later on after this dries out we will find out how effectively it deals with hardpacked clay soil. It soldiered through the thick mud admirably and is very easy to control. There was still plenty of charge left when she finished tilling the area she did today. The only suggestions I have for improvement, besides making the actual tines out of stainless steel rather than painted regular steel, would be to make the tiller head interchangeable with grass trimmer, string trimmer, pole lopper, pole saw heads, etc. because that would save space in your garage or garden shed. The company would like to sell you their own additional grass trimmer and string trimmer (each with their own duplicate battery and charger) but who needs more single use tools? And they should make available additional batteries so when you have drained one you can immediately continue without having to wait for the first battery to cool and recharge; that can happen while you're using the second battery. Speaking of batteries for battery-powered tools, they should make it able to use batteries from other brands either directly or by means of an adapter. I don't like to buy new batteries/rechargers because I already have several including high-capacity (3, 4, 5 and 6Ah) ones from other brands (battery-powered electric drill, vacuum cleaner, leaf blower, hedge trimmer, pole saw, etc.)And there should be some way to compensate for different available battery voltages: this one is 40 V, I have several 18/20 V but now some tools use 60 or 80 V batteries. And each unusable duplicate battery uses up the not unlimited supplies of lithium, cobalt etc. in their manufacture. However, in conclusion: works great, highly recommend. Price point could be better.

Lasts a long time, easy to handle
I decided to give this a run for the money, and it did not disappoint. I ran this for an hour straight and it still had power left. I decided to move about 4" of compacted dirt from the end of my patio to next to my house where water had been puddling up. I had not been looking forward to moving all that dirt until I got this, and it broke it up in no time. It digs a couple inches without pressing downwards, but to get a deeper till you do need to push down. The angle of the trigger is easily adjustable for the most comfortable grip. The one thing I do not like is the inability to unlock the tines. I ran into an underground root and it lodged between the tines and the center arm. It is not possible to reverse the tines, so it took quite a bit to get it dislodged. Otherwise, smaller items are fairly easily removed from in between the tines. The charger and indicator lights work well, they let you know the status of the charge and the battery capacity when using. The battery did not get noticeably warm while using or while charging, so it appears to be made well.I also churned the dirt in my tulip bed and it easily maneuvered around and was nimble, making that task more enjoyable. Overall, this is a great tool thus far.
