Highly recommend this thrilling debut novel about an extraordinary family’s horrors and triumphs spanning decades and continents before and after the Second World War.The author demonstrates a great command of the history of the period both in New York City and in Germany, yet his prose is approachable and this historically accurate novel reads with the pace of a thriller. The author’s unflinching account of the horrors of the Holocaust were at times difficult to read, especially as I became more deeply invested in the central characters, but there was also retribution and stunning acts of heroism, leaving this reader breathless and ripping through the pages until the last page.

This compelling novel holds the readers' interest from beginning to end! Moscovitz is a skilled storyteller with his attention to detail and crafty way of weaving the characters' lives together. It's well-researched and spans generations with a unique storyline. Highly recommend this impressive debut novel that will keep you guessing and totally engrossed with all the unexpected twists and turns.

Anticipated how it would end but I was wrong. Ending was excellent

In the vain of a classic Cussler or Ludlum, Moscovitz weaves a story throughout the strands of the history of the 20th Century that begs to be turned into a movie and neatly creates a compelling story that will leave you guessing through its entirety. A historical page-turner and with an ending that will not disappoint, one thing that will ring true; hard to believe that this is his first book…..but it is a guarantee that it will not be his last. A new must-read novelist has appeared.

I think the best measure of any story's worth is if the reader comes to care about its characters. If you agree, then you must read this book! I became so invested in the life of each character that I was sad when the story ended. Very impressive first novel. I look forward to many more!
