what a great little device!
ok,l so i was first introduced to one of these players back in the summer when i took part in a walking tour of Glasgow.I was handed one of these little devices which was loaded with an audio description of the city.i plugged in my headphones and presssed play.i have to say that it was great quality playback and very clear.its loudness was great. some MP3 players are restricted too much with the output volume, but these are at a good level with plenty of headroom.so when i discovered these on Amazon i was quick to buy one.well i am not disapointed.the audio playback / quality is great.being a DJ in my spare time, audio level and quality is important.plus this would be good at the gym as its very compact and light.a nice colour screen with plenty of functions for a micro sd card or drag and drop songs from a computer using the usb cable.it also has a radio which i have not tried yet but its well bundled. even my ipod doesnt have a radio!this would also suit the older generation as its nice and simple to use without too many buttons (i am only 50 before you ask!!)would recommend

Great value for money - but it's an MP100!
Like many other people, I wanted an mp3 player that had Bluetooth and would take a micro SD card, and this certainly achieves that. The Bluetooth pairing wasn't intuitive and it can be a fuss to reconnect, and the sound is adequate rather than brilliant (like an otherwise excellent streaming device I have from what I believe is Oakcastle's parent company, Majority), but transferring tracks is very simple (anyone remember what we used to have to do with an iPod?). Contrary to some claims, it doesn't play Audible .aax files, but I wasn't expecting that. It's tiny, will slip into the smallest pocket or space and seems quite robust, though its size might make it awkward to use for anyone with large or clumsy fingers. Navigation is quite complex but the essentials become straightforward enough after a few goes. In short, it's an affordable way to carry a whole library of music (with 128 Gb cards available for about £15, that's a massive amount of storage, even at a 320 bit rate) and not have to worry about an earbud cable.BUT - the reason it only gets 4 stars: it's advertised as an MP200, it has an MP200 manual, but the clip clearly states it's an older MP100 and this is confirmed by the firmware details. It doesn't affect the functionality as far as I am concerned, but it's very odd practice from a reputable company.

small and convenient!
works great, only caveat is that looping music loops every single track on the player, not just the album you are on.great sound, sturdy build, lots of space with option for more.also it uses buttons! (seriously you can praise touch screen but it seldom works on such a small device since the screen is the size of a postal stamp.)previous one lasted just under 2 years with 12 hours of play every day.Thats almost 9000 hours of playback before the device started to fail holding its charge.

Cheap and chearful
Doses exactly what I needed it for. I take it with me whilst going running and does the job perfectly. The sound is good but of course not brilliant but I wouldn't expect it to be for the price. The only thing why I would say is don't purchase this if you intend to use the radio function. It is very hit and miss if you can get a decent signal. Apart from that though, a great little MP3 Player.

Renegaed on their 3 year warranty even though I had email proof
Product was fine - I had little expectations for the price point and it hit all those and seemed to be doing ok - I bought this in March 22 - literally a week ago the buttons started malfunctioning and automatically dropping the volume to 0 - I emailed them as I had registered for the 3 year warranty and literally a week of ping pong email tennis and still not sorted - thank god for amazon as the guy in chat refund in 2 mins ! DONT offer warranties if you're not going to stand by them !

Not bad for the price.
I've had a number of such products over the years so consider myself sufficiently experienced as a consumer to offer an opinion. I do still have a 'South Korean' designed & built product which has served me very well for over a decade. It is both beautiful & very functional BUT the storage is restrictive and there's no SD Card capability. So I've looked elsewhere and it appears that only these Chinese designed & built units could possibly suit my requirements. I did purchase a different brand a month or so ago at 3 times what I've paid for this MP200 (both at sale prices by-the-way) but not least the excessive weight of that one was a great problem - fine with it's metal casing if I was at the frontline in a war scenario and hoped it might stop a bullet but otherwise...One of the other problems with that product & this one too is that the designers have opted for 'gimmickry' of sorts. That previous one for it's large & heavy size and this one for it's ultra small & ultra light size because neither understands the ideal of the 'Goldilocks' sizing. Such is to compensate for a lack of quality in certain areas, specifically fit & finish. Both Chinese products are let down by the visible materials they use - this MP200 has surely one of the very cheapest plastics available and is waaaaay behind the standards of that South Korean product (which was first produced around 2009!). And the etching on the casing to explain the button functions is so feint as to be almost pointless. Not so the quality used to emblazon 'Oakcastle' beneath the screen, though. I'm also sceptical in the extreme about the apparent plethora of companies producing all of these supposed 'different' products because of several common design features shared certainly by this company & the other. One is that the SD Card is required to be inserted UPSIDE DOWN which is entirely counter-intuitive and, not least, risks significant damage when it isn't explained because there's an instinct to try ramming it home. But mostly it's that there are shared programming anomalies such as the jumbling of consecutive files no matter how disciplined the titles have been written. My theory is that just one software package has been created and then shared around a number of entirely different manufacturers to wrap their own hardware around it.I would also question the business & environmental sense of including, certainly, the earphones - which are very poor. Few will want them, so into bin they will go!ON THE OTHER HAND - and it's early days, of course - the operation of the device is pretty simple and the sound quality is rather good. Criticism (which I've read here from more than one) that switching off the device effectively sends play 'back to the beginning' is NOT correct - the unit always resumes at that last point.Overall, then, it's 'swings & roundabouts'. Certainly for the price - and assuming it lasts a few years - it's well worth the price. On the other hand it isn't a product you'll necessarily cherish & care for as something to be particularly proud to own.

DEPENDABLE!
I like this MP3 player because when I listen to music, that's all I want to hear. I don't want to be interrupted by phone or notifications. I don't like those bluetooth earbuds because they don't stay in my ears. Even with the different size seal. One tilt of my head and out they fall. Occasionally, those bluetooth buds loses the signal and I have to stop and figure out why.I bought my second Oakcastle MP3 player just the other day. My previous one developed (or I thought) sound problems. It was over 14 months of use so I thought it was the electronics inside. The vocals were muffled and missing clarity. I thought it was the player itself and even formatted the player thinking my music was corrupted.Come to find out it was the included headphones that were inoperative. I didn't find out until this new one came in. I thought I would save the new ones for spare and plugged in the old headphone. Now I have 2 working MP3 players. No problem...this player has outstanding music quality depending on your headphones. The included headphone sounds very good to me. I listen to music from rock to symphony to hawaiian and they sound great. There is tight base just how I like and mids and highs are crisp and clear. I can hear every instrument in the songs.Loading your music is easy. Just connect your PC/Mac with the included USB cord and drag-and-drop your music into the player. As far as using it for exercise, there are some issues. The headphone cord is pretty long. I hank mine to about 8 inches and clip the player to my shirt collar. This works for me.The screen is easy to read and the song title is displayed. There is a battery gauge with 4 dots just like your phone. There is a visual equalizer graph that is displayed but I never had a need for it. Wish I could turn it off. The screen is not touch controlled. You have to navigate using the buttons below the screen. I absolutely like this method because the size of the player is very small and there is no way to operate the clip without grabbing the screen in the process. There is a FM radio inside with auto-tune. It uses the headphone cord and the antenna so lengthening the cord is recommended. An included micro SD slot allows you to have more space for music.I can highly recommend this player. Otherwise, I would not have bought another one.

Best little MP3 player I have ever used. A most user friendly and quality unit.
I should preface my review by saying that I already own a bluetooth cd play manufactured by this UK company, Oakwood, and based on my experience with that unit I was ready for something good from this MP3 player. But, I did not expect to be so completely satisfied with the utility and quality in this product.Pros: Well, this MP3 player is by far the best I have ever owned. In fact, I did not buy an MP3 player for the past so many years because they were all just so difficult for me to use. This unit is very user friendly. I only briefly read part of the manual before diving in as I wanted to see how intuitive it was. I was not disappointed. The learning curve is almost nil. Out of the box it was fully charged and I was able to load my music from Windows 10 without an issue. The FM radio is top notch and I was pleased with that as this unit is so small that I thought there is no way the radio would be loud and clear. As an extra bonus you can record on this unit and...the big selling point for me is that my regular bluetooth headphones connected seamlessly and my music sounds great. And, this MP3 player comes with a 3 year warranty. Outstanding. The clip-on feature is going to be so useful for me and this lightweight unit is not even noticable when clipped on to my shirt. I even plan to download my language lessons so I can use this when hiking. It is so small and so convenient. Comes with a standard pair of earbuds and replaceable foam caps. For me, this MP3 player is the total package. Buttons are easy to use and very responsive once you take a moment to figure out which does what. Several hours of play have not put a dent in the battery power so I expect it to be more than adequate for my needs.Cons: Okay, the manual is tiny and very difficult to read. But, fortunately you do not need to rely on it so much. The charging/transfer USB cord is very short, but that seems to be standard. More cons? No, that is it. I would definitely buy this unit again and would choose it for my grandchildren. An MP3 player that has true bluetooth. Amazing. This is just my opinion and review of the actual unit and you may have a different experience, but I don't think so.
