My wife told me that she bought a mandolin, which I thought was strange, as she doesn't have musical talent, and certainly doesn't know how to play one. Than, she informed me that it was a mandoline, not a mandolin. Knowing nothing about kitchen devices, I didn't have a clue as to what she was talking about.Well, now that the mandoline has arrived, and she's demonstrated its use to me, I fully understand why she purchased it. It comes with a glove, so as not to cut yourself. As far as cutting vegetables, however, she couldn't be more than happy. While it's not an item that I'll ever use, my wife is totally happy with the way it works, plus I get the benefit of enjoying nicely sliced vegetables. This is a good product. 5 stars.

I really like this. My only problem was that I have carpal tunnel and so this was a little hard on my wrists.I had a little trouble doing dices as well but I had no problem doing julienne and slices. That may improve with time. The tracks and the slider to hold it on the track could be a little better, but this is my first mandolin slicer so maybe that is just how they are.

Holy moly this thing is sharp! Use the glove if you're smart. This is my first personal mandolin and I am a huge fan. I didnt need some huge contraption that would take a whole cabinet to store, so this is perfect. My only criticism is that the spare blades don't lock in to the storage container. Seems like they could fly out and do some damage if the container was knocked over.

This is more of a pain to use than it is helpful for anything. I sliced the bottom of my thumb off using it to cut a potato. I am careful with my equipment and had never had an incident with a knife before, so it became apparent that knives are exponentially easier and safer to use than this device.

Good quality and design. The included spacers don't really allow for very thick slices, however. If you like thick sliced onion rings, this isn't the slicer for you.

It is very nice and sharp. The only thing it is missing is the slicing intensity/degree as it only cuts one size. Thank you very much!Mohamed

This is my first vegetable slicer and works great! I wanted it to slice potatoes for au gratin.

gloves are NOT cut proofafter 4 uses on this mandoline, they ruptured and my thumb was cut.
