Best available camera that doesn't break the bank?
Planning to use this on my Mac for online video calls but have only done a couple of test calls so far, one with Google Meet and one with Zoom. Both test calls were fine.Audio is apparently a bit low on the microphone. When I adjust it in the System Preferences the volume goes up but then it will go back down by itself and settle at around 67%. After playing with it a bit I suspect is a "feature" of the noise cancellation. I think it's trying to adjust volume to keep out the background noise but it's lowering my volume at the same time. My daughter was able to raise the speaker volume on her side so in the end it was fine.Video is good but with a REALLY wide view compared to the camera it's replacing. It's roughly 25" from my nose to the camera and when I hold my arms out I can see well past the elbows on both sides. It also LOOKS like I'm farther away. Which, when I compare side-by-side isn't a bad thing as the other camera had a lot of unflattering detail. I suspect it's all still there if I were to lean in and get closer to this camera.Build is fine. It's manual zoom but it gets me and the white board that's about 2 ft behind me so don't think I'll be adjusting it much. I wish the mount were a little wider in the back and square rather than rounded. When you adjust the camera angle it's definitely a two handed operation. There's also know light to tell you whether it's powered or on I'll be putting flap of some kind over it. Combined with the rounded mount that may end up being a pain. We'll see.Overall, pretty happy with it, though it's only been a few hours.

Robust Webcam
Pros: Robustness - Used 6 of those for a 24/7 Birdcam outside, tied up to the balcony railing for 2 years. They withstood sunshine, rain, snow, polar icy weather, hot days, still work fine, to my surprise, and picture quality is quite decent. Used some inside for a music webcast, they are good in low light too. Cons - Sound is bad, use another mic.

Weird frame rate issues and lens strangeness
Super unsure about this camera. I was able to plug and play super easily, but struggle to know how the video actually looks. When I check the camera using video call software or local recordings, it always looks like a super low frame rate. Like 2fps or something insane like that. However the people I've called haven't complained, so I'm not sure if it's just acting funny with local previews and recordings or if all my friends are just lying to me.Also, minor complaint, but the lens type does some weird things with body proportions. I think it's wide angle, so you can see like my whole living room behind me when I record and it makes things at the edge of frame, like my torso, a weird proportion to my head. Also, the camera tends lean towards things looking blue versus other cameras, like my phone camera or laptop camera. This isn't a huge deal, but it makes my skin tone look more sickly than normal which isn't ideal during a pandemic.So. It's ok for calling friends and family and maybe even work video calls if you're bold. But def not good for making videos or streaming or anything

good camera, horrible mic
The video is much better than my early 2000's logitec webcam, so huge step up from that. The microphone, however, is much worse! Horrible microphone quality. I bought a separate desktop microphone so that I would come through as clearly as possible, but I would not recommend this webcam if you wanted to use the microphone on it. Might as well not even come with a microphone, it sounds so bad.... but like I said, I already have a desktop mic, and wasn't planning on using the webcam's mic. Thankfully! For the price, you would think that both microphone and video would work very well.Overall though, I gave this 4/5 because it does what I bought it for, and has a very wide field of view. Kind of distorts objects which are closer to it, so if I have it on my laptop and I'm sitting at a table with my hands/arms on top of the table and closer to the webcam, my forearms and hands look HUGE compared to the upper half of my body... kind of comical, but I didn't buy this camera to do stand-up comedy.

Good but not great - depends on how you will use it
The camera arrived ahead of schedule despite other cameras being unobtainable during this time of worldwide social distancing. It was easy to install on Windows 10 – doesn’t need any special software like it does for earlier versions of Windows. Truly plug and play. The flexible camera holding device was very versatile, allowing desktop standing or clipping to top of monitor. Good surface grip. Rotation or up/down aiming is easy. Focus is manual, but you’ll be using it at the same distance every time, so only needs initial focus adjustment. Sharp picture. Tried it on both desktop and laptop computers. The small size makes it easy to carry or stow.Depending on lighting, usually shows some flicker associated with the frame rate. Distracting in lower light, but you should be using better face lighting anyway. The microphone was substandard. Captured sound easily, but it sounded slightly muffled – more so than the microphone in my laptop. Mild echo. Didn’t test it with background noise to see how much was due to noise cancellation feature. If you have your own microphone or headset/phone combo, these factors won’t matter. If you are primarily just visualizing a meeting, no problem. If you are the primary speaker or if the meeting is one on one, then the mike quality is distracting.

Easy to use and mount webcam
The webcam is a little more expensive than most but has a really useful "claw" mount. My other webcam has had to go into use elsewhere as it just doesn't grip well enough on the thin monitors. With this one, I think you could mount it on just about anything. The manual focus can be a bit tricky to set up but it is worth doing as you get a much clearer picture.I would also like to call out the F2.0 lens, this lets you get a nice usable and bright image even in a fairly dark room. The microphone is functional but for all my calls/gaming I use a headset so cant comment in detail on how good it is for regular use.

Image OK for a cheap webcam, sound atrocious
Bougt this to replace my Microsoft LifeCam Studio Webcam (which Amazon sells for £76 so not much different in price) which died after 4 years of use. I needed the camera quickly so I had to settle for something selling on Prime - so I picked this one as it had good reviews. What a mistake.Image - is OK, but you need to adjust focus manually - the autofocus function on various applications is not working. Not sure if the camera is autofocus capable. The manual adjustment leaves you with a blurry image despite lost of experimentation and adjustments. Dynamic range is very poor - if you are close to a window (not in direct sun) half of your face is burned pixels and the other is too dark. Manual adjustments of brightness do very little to help.Microphone - absolutely useless. Tried it with various applications but with little difference. Simply unuseable. Had to invest in a separate microphone (I had to buy this one: Fifine Usb Podcast Condenser Microphone)I've never been a Microsoft fan but my old webcam was miles ahead of this one at the same price. In my opinion is not worth the money. I guess they're taking advantage of the shortages in the market due to the COVID19 pandemic.Try to get your hands on a known brand cam, this is a waste of money - unless you're in my position and need something fast.

Broke within 3 days.
So the quality of the webcam seems ok, picture quality was fine, mic seemed to work.It plugged in easily to the Windows 10 desktop, integrated with everything. My one concern is the lack of a privacy shield. But broke within 3 days, half the image corrupted every 30 seconds, so had to return it before it was actually used in anger. Very disappointing.2nd Edit : I have turned down Amazon vouchers to keep this review in place. It seems the negative reviews for this are being "manipulated" which is not right imo.

Really easy set-up, works well. Picture and sound quality not great for the price.
Bought in lockdown when I needed a cheap webcam. Couldn’t find any, so had to pay £69.99 for this. If I’d got this webcam for 25 quid I’d be saying what a great value for money unit this is. In actual fact it’s rather overpriced for the quality of picture and sound. On the plus side, it worked straight out of the box on my ageing windows 10 PC. Set up was easy and it works seamlessly with Zoom, Skype, Teams etc. So it basically does what I got it for. However picture quality isn’t great. The image lacks sharpness and the dynamic range is rubbish. Meaning that any bright parts of the image often end up being washed out. Sound is not much better. Yes the person on the other end can hear me, but my sound is tinny. In summary, if you want a webcam that seems reliable and easy to use, then I can recommend this one. Quality isn’t great, but I note that the price (at the time of writing) has dropped to £50. Still a bit too much for what you get, but not as bad.

Impressive VIDEO camera, BUT TRULY DREADFUL AUDIO .
I was surprised by how small the camera was! Only about 35mm in diameter & less than 70mm long.Whilst on my Windows 10 (64Bit) PC, the Drivers loaded automatically off the web, it was necessary to visit the AUSDOM web site to download the camera's ".exe" set up file (without which you will see no camera output signal). The default settings on this program were fine for a reasonable picture in good light, and doubtless images could be refined using the control menu if required. This is a manual focus camera, so you will need to twist the front ring to optimise for sharpest output, which is really quite crisp when adjusted with the camera set for the 1920 HD standard (1080P).There is dreadfully muffled audio too, which was low level and bass heavy by default. (See post script below!)My requirement was simply for Video Conferencing by Zoom, and was hopeful this AusDom AW615 would perform adequately for this purpose, and be a VAST improvement on my Laptop's internal set up.The wideangle lens performance seems excellent for the price, but the camera is clearly a 'low cost' unit as the monitor clamping arrangement, and the tilt mount for the camera are very much budget priced ~ and perform in this regard! Still the USB cable is a couple of metres long, which should make positioning the camera practical in most situations.NOTE: I did find that the camera's relatively heavy power drain loading caused intermittent 'Black Flashing' when used on one particular USB port on my PC, but this was resolved when the camera was used on a different USB port.PostScript:It has proved TOTALLY IMPOSSIBLE to adjust the audio output either for clarity or level. The root cause of this is the fact that the mini-electoret microphone is hidden INSIDE the camera body, without any acoustic port for the audio to 'get' to the microphone ~ no wonder the audio is bass-heavy, muffled and very low level. A total DESIGN FARCE in fact, so I have demoted this review to only ONE STAR! I have an electronic engineering background, and I have removed the (soldered in) PCB mounted internal microphone capsule, and replaced it with a mini-swan neck cardiod response mic designed for Intercom applications which has been mounted via a hole drilled in the mic's plastic top cover.A professional-level bodge, but it still looks OK,AND it works and sounds VERY much better! This has cured the muffled and low level audio and made the Unit now fit for the intended purposeIn the light of this audio nonsense THERE IS NO WAY I CAN NOW RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT!!!
