Great guitar package for the beginner
Well, I finally ordered one after looking at Davison guitars for a while. I had some Amazon credit so I figured, "why not?"It's not bad. The shape is very close to a Epiphone Les Paul, as well as the thickness of the body.The frets were actually smooth; no sharp ends!The neck was straight.The paint was....eh, ok. There are some swirl and scratch marks. No matter. I am planning on refinishing this in gray chalk paint and make it a "worn" poor man's Les Paul.It plays pretty good. I'm by far not an expert, but I can play some notes and chords.It has a crunchy/twangy tone, due to the single bridge pickup.The amp isn't the best, but it's good if you don't already have one. But it comes with a cord, and not battery powered, so that's a plus!Bottom line: If you're looking for a basic electric guitar package, this isn't a bad way to go.My son just got a Best Choice strat copy, and it's about the same quality.I'll post some before and after pics of my guitar project.Rock on!
