Good stuff
Every Christmas I give each family member dozens of their favorite cookie--raisin, meringue, shortbread, glazed molasses, chocolate, rosemary, lemon to name a few. And this book has great recipes for each. Martha's sugar cookies are better than my great-aunt's and that is high praise indeed. I don't like the woman (we interpret the world very differently), but I cannot deny that her products (cookbooks, paint, magazine) are of high quality. Highly recommend.

Love Martha
Martha is always on point when it comes to baking. This isn’t just a recipe book, it actually teaches you technique and how to make good cookies. This book includes the classics (as Martha always includes unlike some other books). I’ve looked at other books and the organization is too confusing and it assumes that I already know everything about cookies. There’s also ideas on how to gift wrap cookies in the back of this book too.I got this cookie book because I have Martha’s pie book and it makes wonderful pies. Up next on my radar is her cake book. One thing at a time thoughEdit: so I made the chocolate chip cookies first. They’re AMAZING! They are soft the next day. I’ve always wanted to make good chocolate chip cookies and online recipes have always been a disaster. This recipe rocks!

I've made a zillion cookies, but there are new good ones here I had not seen
Lots of new ideas. I tried about 20-25.Best one: Grammy's Chocolate Sugar cookies--easy, inexpensive and very chocolately/crisp.Also really good: Milk Chocolate Cookies, Amaretti Crisps, Chocolate-Orange Thins, Anzac Biscuits.Biggest surprise: the Oatmeal Raisin cookies, made with wheat germ, are the best oatmeal raisin cookies I've ever had, and I've been making cookies for about 40 years.

Good so far.. easy. Mostly photos of end results included.
The book is filed with photos of mainly the final result. I’ve only made one cookie, but I will update as I bake through the book.So far, I’ve made the:Bratseli (as seen in photo) they were semi sweet, crispy cookies. Easy to make, easy to bake up using a pizelle iron. However, the amount that it makes is a tad overboard. It says it makes 6-7 dozen, but it actually makes about 4 dozen.

This cookbook is a winner!
Wonderful and comprehensive cookie cookbook. Every recipe has a large photo of the finished product ( 'Cause I love to see what the cookie going to look like :) None of the recipes are particularly complicated though you might be expecting that from a Martha Stewart cookbook. Gorgeous cookbook.

Excellent Cookie Recipes
This is a wonderful book by Martha Stewart. Purchased as a replacement for the one I've had for years that was borrowed and not returned to me. Great range of cookie recipe varieties and excellent directions and tips. She even includes info on packing different types of cookies for mailing.

Love the book .. my present go to for cookie recipes!
I am not a huge fan of Martha Stewart but when I wanted a cookbook on cookies, I purchased this based on the many positive recipes. I was prepared to just like the book but I love it. I love how the recipes are organized as light and delicate, soft and chewy, crispy and crunchy etc. The list of recipes in the first few pages is really neat, including not just the name of the cookie and page number but also a small photograph of the cookie. There are enough recipes, about 175 of them, to suit every taste with beautiful photographs that entice you to try them. This book was put to good use over the holidays when I purchased it. I have tried well over 25 recipes since I purchased the book last month even modifying some of them. Turned out great each time.Nice tips at the end with a very typical Martha type write up on how to package cookie as gifts. Very neat!

A must-have cookie book!
After purchasing Marth's special cookie issue off the rack at checkout one year, I tried several recipes. I was so pleased that I proceeded to order the issue for gifts directly from MSL later that year. I was thrilled to hear a cookie cookbook was planned. I love this book. So much that I have it in softcover bound format and also on my Kindle so that I may have access to the recipes (in color on the iPad and computer) when I travel. I don't know whether there are more recipes in here than were in the original cookie magazine issue, but I could care less. Only once have I been disappointed in one of these recipes, and the error was mine - using moist, sweetened coconut flakes when the recipe said to use unsweetened.I think it is a tremendous value.
